సూక్తులు-సుభాషితాలు (71-80)

71. A thought is an arrow shot at the truth; it can hit a point, but not cover the whole target. But the archer is too well satisfied with his success to ask anything farther.

71. సత్యానికి గురి పెట్టి వేసిన బాణమే ఆలోచన. అది ఏదో ఒక బిందువునే ఛేదిస్తుంది గాని లక్ష్యం యావత్తుని ఆక్రమించలేదు. కాని విలుకాడు అంతకు మించి ఆశించక అంతటితో తృప్తిపడతాడు.

72. The sign of dawning Knowledge is to feel that as yet I know little or nothing, & yet, if I could only know my knowledge, I already possess everything.

72. నేటికి నాకు తెలిసినది ఏమీ కాదు అన్న భావన నాలో జ్ఞానాంకురానికి సూచన. అయినప్పటికి నాకున్న జ్ఞానాన్ని నేను సంపూర్ణంగా గ్రహించగలిగితే సర్వమూ నాకు అర్థమైనట్లే.

73. WhenWisdom comes, her ®rst lesson is, “There is no such thing as knowledge; there are only aperËcus of the Infinite Deity.”

73. జ్ఞానం ఉదయించినప్పుడు ఆమె నేర్పే మొదటి పాఠం ఇది – “అసలు జ్ఞానం అనేదే లేదు; ఉన్నదంతా కేవలం అనంత భగవత్తత్వం యొక్క క్షణకాల సందర్శనాలే.”

74. Practical knowledge is a different thing; that is real and serviceable, but it is never complete. Therefore to systematize and codify it is necessary but fatal.

74.  లౌకిక జ్ఞానపు తీరు వేరు. అది వాస్తవమైనది, ఉపయోగితమైనదే కాని ఎన్నటికీ సంపూర్ణం కాలేదు.  క్రమ బద్ధం చేసి, వ్యవస్థీకరించే కృషి అవసరమైనదే, కాని వినాశకరమైనది.

75. Systematise we must, but even in making & holding the system, we should always keep firm hold on this truth that all systems are in their nature transitory and incomplete.

75. వ్యవస్థీకరణ అవసరమే కాని మనం వ్యవస్థను నిర్మించేటప్పుడు వ్యవస్థలన్నీ తాత్కాలికాలే, అసంపూర్ణాలే నన్న సత్యాన్ని స్థిరంగా జ్ఞాపకం పెట్టుకోవాలి.

76. Europe prides herself on her practical and scientific organization and efficiency. I am waiting till her organisation is perfect; then a child shall destroy her.

76. యూరప్ తన శాస్త్రీయ వ్యవస్థను, భౌతిక సమర్థతను చూసుకుని గర్విస్తుంది. ఆ వ్యవస్థ పరిపూర్ణం కావాలని ఎదురుచూస్తున్నా. అప్పుడొక పసివాడు దాన్ని నాశనం చేస్తాడు.

77. Genius discovers a system; average talent stereotypes it till it is shattered by fresh genius. It is dangerous for an army to be led by veterans; for on the other side God may place Napoleon.

77. మేధావి ఒక పద్ధతిని కనుగొంటాడు. మధ్యమైన ప్రతిభ దాన్ని అలవాటుగా అనుకరిస్తుండగా మరో మేధావి వచ్చి దాన్ని భంగం చేస్తాడు. కేవలం అనుభవజ్ఞులైన వృద్ధుల నియంతృత్వంలో ఉండడం సైన్యానికి శ్రేయస్కరం కాడు. ప్రతిపక్షంలో భగవంతుడు నెపోలియన్ ని నియమించి ఉండొచ్చు.

78. When knowledge is fresh in us, then it is invincible; when it is old, it loses its virtue. This is because God moves always forward.

78. మనలో జ్ఞానం స్వచ్ఛంగా, సజీవంగా ఉన్నపుడు అజేయమౌతుంది. పాతబడినప్పుడు శక్తిని కోల్పోతుంది. ఎందుకంటే భగవంతుడు సదా ముందుకి సాగిపోతుంటాడు.

79. God is infinite Possibility. Therefore Truth is never at rest; therefore, also, Error is justified of her children.

79. అనంతావకాశమే భగవంతుడు. కనుకనే సత్యమెప్పుడూ విశ్రమించదు. అందుకే పొరబాటుకి కూడా తన సంతతి కారణంగా ఒక సముచిత స్థానం ఉంటుంది.

80.  కొందరు భక్తజనుల మాటలు వింటున్నప్పుడు భగంవతుడు అసలు నవ్వంటే ఎరగని వాడేమో ననిపిస్తుంది; దేవుడిలో దివ్యమైన అరిస్టోఫేన్స్ వున్నాడన్న హెయిన్స్ ఓ సత్యాన్ని గుర్తించాడు.

80. To listen to some devout people, one would imagine that God never laughs; Heine was nearer the mark when he found in Him the divine Aristophanes.
