శ్రీ అరొబిందో: సూక్తులు-సుభాషితాలు (31-40)

31. I saw a child wallowing in the dirt and the same child cleaned by his mother and resplendent, but each time I trembled before his utter purity.

31.  బురదలో పొర్లాడుతున్న పసిబిడ్డని చూశాను. అదే బిడ్డను తన తల్లి ముస్తాబు చేసి మురిసిపోగా మెరిసిపోవడమూ చూశాను. ఈ రెండు సందర్భాలలోను ఆ పసివాడి శుద్ధ నైర్మల్యాన్ని చూసి కదిలిపోయాను.

32. What I wished or thought to be the right thing, does not come about; therefore it is clear that there is no All Wise one who guides the world but only blind Chance or a brute Causality.

32.  నేను మంచిదని నమ్మినది, జరగాలని ఆశించినది జరగలేదు. కనుక నిస్సందేహంగా ఈ లోకం సర్వజ్ఞుడైన పరమాత్ముడి పాలనలో లేదు, కేవలం గ్రుడ్డి యాదృచ్ఛికత, కఠోరమైన కార్యకారణ న్యాయం – ఇవే ప్రపంచాన్ని నడిపిస్తున్నాయి.

33. The Atheist is God playing at hide & seek with Himself; but is the Theist any other? Well, perhaps; for he has seen the shadow of God and clutched at it.

33.  నాస్తికుడిలో భగవంతుడు తనతో తాను దోబూచులు ఆడుకుంటూ ఉంటాడు. మరి ఇతడికి అస్తికుడికి మధ్య ఏమంత వ్యతాసం ఉందని? బహుశః ఉందేమో. అస్తికుడు భగవంతుడి నీడని పట్టుకుని వేలాడుతుంటాడు.

34. O Thou that lovest, strike! If Thou strike me not now, I shall know that Thou lov'st me not.

34. నాపై నీకు దయ ఉంటే నన్ను దండించు ప్రభూ! ఇప్పుడు నన్ను దండించకుంటే నాపై దయ లేదనే అనుకుంటాను.

35. O Misfortune, blessed be thou; for through thee I have seen the face of my Lover.

35. ఓ దురదృష్టమా! నీకు నమస్కరిస్తున్నాను. నీ కారణం చేతనే నా ప్రియతముడు ముఖాన్ని దర్శించుకోగలిగాను.

36. Men are still in love with grief; when they see one who is too high for grief or joy, they curse him & cry, “O thou insensible!” Therefore Christ still hangs on the cross in Jerusalem.

36. మనుషులకి దుఃఖమంటే ఎందుకో మమకారం. సుఖదుఃఖాలకి అతీతుడైన వాడెవడైనా కనిపిస్తే “ఓరీ! నీది రాతి గుండె” అని ఆడిపోసుకుంటారు. అందుకే జెరూసలెమ్ లో క్రీస్తు ఇంకా సిలువ మీదే ఉన్నాడు.

37. Men are in love with sin; when they see one who is too high for vice or virtue, they curse him & cry, “O thou breaker of bonds, thou wicked and immoral one!” Therefore Srikrishna

does not live as yet in Brindavun.

37.  మనుషులకి దుఃఖమంటే ఎందుకో మమకారం. పాపపుణ్యాలకి అతీతుడైన వాడెవడైనా కనిపిస్తే “ఓరీ! సిగ్గుమాలిన వాడా, నీతి నియమాలు లేనివాడా” అంటూ దుయ్యబట్టుతారు. అందుకే కృష్ణుడు నేటికీ బృందావనంలో తప్ప మరెక్కడా మనకి కనిపించడు.

38. Some say Krishna never lived, he is a myth. They mean on earth; for if Brindavun existed nowhere, the Bhagwat could not have been written.

38. కొందరు కృష్ణుడు అనేవాడు పురాణాలలో తప్ప నిజంగా ఎప్పుడూ లేడని అంటారు. వాళ్ల ఉద్దేశం ఈ భూమి మీద జీవించలేదని. ఎందుకంటే బృందావనం అనేది ఎక్కడో లేకుంటే, భాగవతం వ్రాయబడి ఉండేది కాదు.

39. Strange! the Germans have disproved the existence of Christ; yet his crucifixion remains still a greater historic fact than the death of Caesar.

39.  ఎంత విచిత్రం! క్రీస్తు ఉన్కి అబద్ధమని జర్మనులు నిరూపించారు. అయినా క్రీస్తుని సిలువ వెయ్యడమనేది సీజరు మరణం కన్నా ప్రసిద్ధమైన చారిత్రక ఘట్టమయ్యింది.

40. Sometimes one is led to think that only those things really matter which have never happened; for beside them most historic achievements seem almost pale and ineffective.

40. ఒక్కొక్కసారి వాస్తవంలో ఎప్పుడూ జరగని విషయాలే అన్నిటికన్నా ముఖ్యమైనవని అనిపిస్తుంది. వాటి ముందు ఎన్నో చారిత్రక ఘట్టాలు పేలవంగా, నిష్ఫలంగా తోచుతాయి.
